Music@Malling Scratch Orchestra Dates!

We are delighted that dates for the Scratch Orchestra have been announced.  There are 10 sessions in 2023 9.30am-12.30pm St.Benedict’s Centre.  It is brilliant fun and FREE to participate.

The Observer – Top Ten 2022

We are delighted that Music@Malling has been selected for Fiona Maddock’s Top Ten Concerts and Operas of 2022.  In April, she gave Six Brandenburgs: Six Commissions a five star review and described the events as “an uplifting and rewarding hit.”  Congratulations to all the performers for such a brilliant accolade!

RVW Foundation

We are delighted that the RVW Foundation have awarded Music@Malling a grant towards our contemporary music programme.  2022 is the 150th anniversary of the birth of Ralph Vaughan Williams and it is fantastic that his influence is still being felt not just through his marvellous music but by the generosity of his foundation. Thank you RVW!

Opera Today reviews The Marian Consort

We are delighted that Claire Seymour of Opera Today reviewed The Marian Consort at Ightham Mote.  There was a workshop on Tallis – Salvator Mundi with 25 singers of all ages rehearsing side-by-side with members of the highly acclaimed Marian Consort.  The concert – held in the Great Hall – included world premiere performances by Sir William Haute who owned Igtham Mote during The War of the Roses!!

 

 

Musical Opinion reviews Music@Malling

We are delighted to receive an outstanding review by Paul Conway in September’s Musical Opinion who describes Six Brandenburgs: Six Commissions as “a resounding success.”

In a wide-ranging review, Conway praises the new works: “The result was a true continuation of the energising, restorative effect of Bach’s music, crisply and spontaneously rendered by members of Chamber Domaine under Thomas Kemp’s alert direction.”

Golsoncott Foundation

Music@Malling are delighted to have been given an award by The Golsoncott Foundation to support “excellence” in performance.  The award will contribute to our special events in Spring 2023 at Malling Abbey.

Music@Malling support three outstanding ensembles form the Royal Academy of Music

Music@Malling are delighted to offer concerts, outreach and mentoring to three outstanding groups from the Royal Academy of Music.  Selected by audition, the chosen ensembles for 2022/23 are the Kyan Quartet, Nobody’s Jig and Noah Stoneman Quartet.
