Arts Council England

Music@Malling are delighted to have been awarded a Grants for the Arts Award by Arts Council England.  The funding helps support concerts and outreach this Spring – bringing outstanding musical events to people’s doorsteps.

Arts Council England has been incredibly supportive of our activities over a number of years and in particular, during the pandemic.  Their generous funding has enabled the music to thrive and for our organisation to survive and reset!

Escape Art Centre – Music@Malling Spring Series

Music@Malling are delighted to be working with Escape Arts with three events this April in the Fire Station, Tonbridge.

The Immy Churchill Trio perform a set of jazz classics and James Pearson – Artistic Director of Ronnie Scotts – improvises on themes from Bach.  There is also a talk by outstanding British composer, Deborah Pritchard about Music and Colour.

Six Brandenburgs: Six Commissions

On 23rd April 2022, St.Mary’s Abbey will host three performances of the complete Brandenburg Concertos alongside six commissions by a fascinating cross-section of composers working in the UK.  The new companion pieces are by Michael Price, Deborah Pritchard, Daniel Kidane, Brian Elias, Jospeh Phibbs and Stevie Wishart.  The performances are at 12noon, 2.30pm and 4.30pm and will be an hour in duration.  Refreshments will be available in the St.Benedict’s Centre. An all star line-up of performers will make this a day to remember!

Go Compose!

Go Compose is back!  On 14th November 2021, the workshops will be online.  There are places for ten music creators/composers to write a piece in a day mentored by Simon Speare – Faculty Royal College of Music and Purcell School.  This workshop is inspired by Messiaen’s iconic Quartet for the End of Time.

A brilliant opportunity to learn new skills, write for leading professional performers and hear your music performed and recorded!  To book a place:  info@musicatmalling.com
