Earth, Water, Air and Fire Concert II

The Elements are explored in George Frideric Handel’s famous Water Music and music by contemporary composer Deborah Pritchard with art by celebrated artist Maggi Hambling CBE.

‘Wall of Water’ is a new violin concerto written for acclaimed violinist Harriet Mackenzie inspired by Maggi Hambling’s atmospheric picture. Maggi Hambling has painted a new picture, ‘Light’, especially for Music@Malling, inspired by Deborah’s new work ‘Light’ for solo violin which will be premiered in this concert.

These immersive performances are given by Chamber Domaine, recently praised in The Artsdesk for its ‘metaphysical brilliance… effortless and joyous playing meeting with an equally joyous audience response.’

Deborah Pritchard is an award-winning British composer. She is known for her concert works, informed by her synaesthesia, and her collaborative work with visual artists.
