Legendary pianist Peter Donohoe performs Olivier Messiaen’s Vingt Regards Sur L’Enfant-Jésus which were written and premiered at the close of World War II – a profound meditation on the infancy of Jesus: spiritual, mystical and with a universal message of hope that transcends the destruction of war. Peter Donohoe spent a year in Paris studying with Messiaen and his wife Yvonne Loriod – who premiered the Vingt Regards at the Salle Gaveau, Paris on 26th March 1945.
