Earth, Water, Air and Fire Concert III

The Elements are explored in music by contemporary composer Deborah Pritchard and George Frideric Handel with art by celebrated artists Maggi Hambling CBE and Marc Chagall.

Local young musicians will perform Handel’s celebratory ‘Music for the Royal Fireworks’ side-by-side with the professional musicians of Chamber Domaine. The concert also features three works by Deborah Pritchard with outstanding solo violinists Greta Mutlu and Harriet Mackenzie. ‘Chagall’s Light’, a world premiere performance, was inspired by the stained glass windows at All Saints’ Tudeley. ‘Edge’ and ‘Sky’ were both inspired by paintings by Maggi Hambling.

These immersive performances are given by Chamber Domaine, recently praised in The Artsdesk for its ‘metaphysical brilliance…effortless and joyous playing meeting with an equally joyous audience response.’

Deborah Pritchard is an award-winning British composer. She is known for her concert works, informed by her synaesthesia, and her collaborative work with visual artists. Today’s world premiere ‘Chagall’s Light’ is inspired by the stained glass windows of All Saints’ Church, Tudeley.
