Holder of a 2022 Borletti-Buitoni Trust Fellowship, Selected by Gramophone as “One To Watch”, Winner of First Prize at the 2016 Kathleen Ferrier Awards and an Associate Artist of The Mozartists, Alessandro Fisher was a member of the BBC New Generation Artist Scheme between 2018 and 2021. He read Modern and Medieval Languages at Cambridge, where he was a Choral Scholar at Clare College, furthering his studies at London’s Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

He made his Salzburg Festival debut as Lucano L’Incoronazione di Poppea and operatic engagements have further included performances with Garsington Opera, Glyndebourne Festival Opera, The Grange Festival, Opera Rara and the Royal Opera, London. 

Singing with orchestras including BBC Concert Orchestra, BBC Philharmonic, BBC Symphony Orchestra, La Nuova Musica, Royal Northern Sinfonia, Ulster Orchestra, Mozarteum Orchester Salzburg, Danish National Symphony Orchestra, Radio Filharmonisch Orkest and Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana, he appears regularly in concert, working with conductors such as Anna-Maria Helsing, David Bates, Martyn Brabbins, Ivor Bolton, Laurence Cummings, Diego Fasolis, Kirill Karabits, Ludovic Morlot, Ian Page, Sir Simon Rattle, Ilyich Rivas, DInis Sousa and Mark Wigglesworth. 

A committed recitalist, he made his BBC Proms singing Songs by Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha with Sir Stephen Hough, whilst recital engagements have included performamces for Cheltenham Festival, Hay Festival, NI Glenarm Festival of Voice, Leeds Lieder, Oxford International Song Festival and at Wigmore Hall, giving performances with Anna Tilbrook, JongSun Woo, Julius Drake, Graham Johnson, Simon Lepper, Joseph Middleton  and Roger Vignoles.

His recordings include A Gardener’s World with pianist Anna Tilbrook on Rubicon Classics, selected amonst Editor’s Choice by Gramophone, Portraits of the Mind on Albion Records, shortlisted for a 2024 Gramophone Award, Monteverd’s L’Incoronazione di Poppea on Harmonia Mundi, Mozart’s Bastien und Bastienne on Signum, Roussel’s Évocations on Chandos and Stanford’s Te Deum on Lyrita.
