Tuition
We provide music lessons in schools and local music centres across Kent. Learning to sing or to play a musical instrument provides enormous benefits for young people in terms of their intellectual, social and emotional development. Learning to play an instrument is incredibly rewarding, giving a sense of achievement, and is a skill you will have for life.
With COVID-19 measures still in place, Kent Music is proud to be offering online lessons in the autumn of 2020, so that our students can continue to learn as safely as possible!

Music Centres
Kent Music runs Music Centres across Kent. They’re spaces to not only have music lessons, but also join local groups and ensembles suited to a variety of ages and skillsets! Joining a local group can enhance your playing and singing skills, giving you the opportunity to meet like-minded people, learn new skills, and become a confident player. Groups are always enjoyable, and often there is the opportunity to join in with performances and showcase your talents.
Music Centre membership is fantastic value, with some great benefits! As a member you will have access to all ensembles at our Music Centres across Kent, so you can join as many as you wish.
In Autumn 2020 with COVID-19 measures in place, we’re excited to be running a Online Music Centre, where both existing Music Centre members and brand new ones can join in the fun! Running until half term, the courses will include orchestral groups, instrument-specific ensembles, an online Music Lab, and a wide variety of favourites from our in-person music centres.

Orchestra ONE
Orchestra ONE… the Orchestra of New Experiences, is a large music group for young musicians between the ages of 8 and 18. Members of Orchestra ONE come from a wide range of musical backgrounds and create their own original music during each four day project.
Every project offers a new experience influenced by changing themes, collaborations and specialist tutor teams but most importantly by the young musicians’ own interests, styles and instrumentation. Projects held at various venues in Maidstone in Spring, Summer and Autumn.

Kent Music Summer School
KMSS has welcomed thousands of young people since 1947, with courses led by professional musicians and designed specifically to inspire those aged eight to nineteen.
Courses are held at Benenden School in the heart of Kent, with its excellent accommodation, food and facilities, including a concert hall, purpose-built theatre and swimming pool. Courses ranges from the traditional, such as String and Wind ensembles and singing, to modern courses in Musical Theatre and Songwriting.
While the 2020 summer school had to be cancelled due to COVID-19, Kent Music are excited to come back bigger and better than ever for 2021!
